What is WordSeed?

WordSeed is the world’s first fully-automated sponsored content solution for brands. Using a network of premium publishers and content creators, WordSeed provides a scalable way to reach new customers, increase revenue and maximise ROI.

What is sponsored content?

Sponsored content is a type of promotional media that's paid for by an advertiser, but created and shared by a publisher or content creator.

Why should I use Sponsored Content?

There are many reasons to use sponsored content, including:

  • 70% of individuals learn about products through content rather than traditional advertising
  • It helps to build long-term trust and therefore long-term customers
  • It gets your brand in front of the right audience to grow your traffic without sacrificing quality
  • It helps to reduce your reliance on cookie-based advertising
  • Reduce Ad overload and reach your users through publishers they trust
  • Improve your SEO rankings by securing high quality backlinks
  • Increase purchase intent by 18%
  • Benefit from a CTR of 40 times higher than display ads

How does WordSeed work?

We designed WordSeed to save brands time and resources while completely removing the legal, reporting and billing pain points usually associated with sponsored content. With that in mind, all brands need to do is login to the Brand Portal, set their monthly budget and cost per click (CPC) rate and let our advanced algorithm seed your message to the publishers most likely to drive the highest quality traffic and best possible ROI.

Why wouldn’t we go direct to publishers?

To go direct you need to find publishers, contact them, discuss terms, sign contracts, plan campaigns, record traffic accurately, measure performance and handle billing- for each publisher. At WordSeed, we take care of everything and negotiate the best rates with hundreds of publishers to enable you to grow your sales and maximise ROI.

Why is CPC better than agreeing to a fixed price for sponsored content?

When you agree to a fixed price for sponsored content you still have to pay even if the campaign doesn’t give you the results you were expecting. The payment isn't aligned with the campaign performance, which puts the advertiser at a disadvantage. WordSeed uses the cost per click (CPC) metric to track performance and because brands only pay for the traffic they receive, publishers are incentivised to create great editorial and make sure it gets the maximum exposure.

Can I join WordSeed without a website?

Yes, we also accept publishers using social media channels including Pinterest, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

How long until I can start earning money?

You can start promoting brands and earning money as soon as you have been accepted onto your first campaign.

Do I need to install any tracking tags on my website?

No, there is no need to install anything on your site.

How much money can I expect to earn per month?

This varies from publisher to publisher, but there is no upper limit to the number of campaigns you can take part in so if your promotional activities perform well the monthly payments can be significant. Publishers have earned as much as £60,000 per month promoting WordSeed brands.

Are there any costs I should worry about?

Good news! There is no cost to publishers at all. If you apply for and are accepted on a campaign offering a CPC of £0.75 and you drive 10,000 clicks in a month, we’ll pay you £7,500.

Running a campaign

How do I apply for a campaign?

Once logged into the Publisher Platform, publishers can search and apply for brand campaigns, filtering by cost per click (CPC), monthly budget and sector, as needed. WordSeed’s algorithm automatically selects the most suitable publishers for each campaign and allocates the number of clicks to be achieved per month. The publisher then creates the editorial, adds the trackable links and generates revenue per click.

How do I use the link generator?

Put the any brand link into the ‘Target URL’ field and the system will create a trackable link. Copy the link and use it in editorial to get paid per click.

How long do campaigns last on average?

Editorial content often gets better as it ages so at WordSeed, brands sign ongoing monthly commitments so content created by publishers today could be still generating CPC revenue for months and potentially years to come. Currently, 91% of campaigns are over 1 year old.

Can I include multiple brands within a single article?

Yes, and this can be a great strategy to increase the revenue generated by each article. For example, for editorial exploring ‘the latest summer-ready sneakers’ you could filter by sneakers, apply for 5 brands and include them all.

Can I swap out affiliate links or add WordSeed brands into existing articles?

Yes, if an affiliate link is driving an earnings per click (EPC) of less than the cost per click (CPC) offered by a WordSeed brand then it may make sense to update the article to increase its earning potential.

What happens when a campaign ends?

When a campaign ends, a publisher can remove the content entirely if they wish, but it often makes more sense to simply update the content and links to continue earning from the article.

Aside from the brand’s website, where do I find images, information and brand news?

Press releases, high-res images and the latest brand news can be found within the Publisher Portal within the ‘Current’ campaigns tab.

Getting paid and contracts

When and how do I get paid?

All too often, payments to publishers can take weeks and months longer than they should. At WordSeed, publishers are paid on the 28th of every month. Guaranteed. We offer payments via BACS, international wire transfer or ACH.

Do I have to sign up for a long contract?

No one likes to feel trapped so it’s important to be flexible when it comes to contracts. At WordSeed, we’re so confident that our service will add significant value in helping you reach your goals that you can cancel your contact with us at any time, with just 5 days notice.
